I always wanted to have my own business. I plan to open up a small restaurant or a cafeteria. I want to have it in or near a school.

Problem is, I don’t know how to start marketing. A friend of mine told me about an ongoing tradeshow downtown. He said we should check it out. Maybe we can find something to work with to make my business known to people.

As we walked into the room, a set of items really got my attention. There was a booth showing a small alcohol retail business. They used in their tradeshow promotional coaster and drink holders to advertise their group. They printed their brand name and logo on the material and handed it out to the onlookers. I said to myself that that was a good way to promote an upcoming business because it really got my attention.

As we went inside the building, I saw a booth of a glassmaker. His products are good, but his giveaways were better. He used in his tradeshow promotional barwares and carafes as advertising materials. He had his business name or logo printed on the surface of the material. His brand name really popped out. Again, that was a good one.

Hours passed, and there are no other promotional items that really got my attention except the two products I mentioned.

Now I’ve decided to pursue in opening up my own business. I don’t have a big budget right now, so I’ll use tradeshow promotional mugs for now. Years from now, maybe I can also take part in a tradeshow, and show people how I started the whole thing.
